Essay One

There I was among my extravagant, weird comrades fighting to the bitter end and this God-forsaken guy just would not die. My heavy revolvers finally chewed through the last of my ammo and I know I pumped at least 20 rounds of lead into my enemy, but it was not enough. I threw away my heavy revolvers onto the red-stained concrete, cursing at them. The enemy just shook off the rounds like I was throwing rocks at him. The attractive vampire to my left was concentrating to get the enemy to look at him just for one mere moment so he can use his mind tricks to slow the enemy down. The daring werewolf was using his deadly teeth and claws to bring the enemy down in health points and the idiot human mage were using his “magic.” I on the other hand pull out my two rapiers and was getting ready to attack and I quickly said, “Eat my steal swowds, you good for nothing.” “I mean swords.” All of my comrades stopped what they were doing and gave me this most awkward look on their faces. I suddenly pulled out of my character and realize that I am just Kathy again and not Kit the swift vampire. I swore underneath my breath and gave them an awkward smile. At that moment I realized that they all picked up on my small, insignificant speech impediment. When I was kid I used to say my R’s with W sound all the time. I hated myself for not able to say my words right and I absolutely hated kids that teased me about it; so I went to speech therapists from first grade to fifth. Also, at that same moment I realized that all of my speech therapists used board games to help me say my R’s better and make it more fun and enjoyable. If they did not use games at all I would probably still be in speech therapy until my freshmen year of high school. If it was not for the speech therapists I would probably still be talking kind of funny.

Kathy,

Excellent job of relating games to speech therapy. One thing I would suggest is to develop the ideas a bit more and try to break up the ideas into paragraphs.
